Inviting Nominations for Committee

Auckland Sport Climbing is inviting nominations for all committee positions.  The following positions are available:
  • President
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • General member x 5

The club is responsible for supporting climbers who want to compete at both a National and International level. The club’s goals are to provide support and development through coaching, as well as logistical and administration support for those self-driven climbers who want to achieve at the highest levels of the sport. In addition, we provide a strong social community for like-minded youth to enjoy the non-competitive aspects of sport climbing and bouldering.

A small number of committed parents, past and present, have given up a lot of time so their children and your children can enjoy competitive sport climbing and bouldering.  A lot of systems and policies have been put into place to make the administration of the club smoother and easier.  The club membership is expected to reach a  record high this year and our coached numbers are also at a record high so let’s continue this for the future of young Auckland climbers.

The committee meets once a month during the school term.  Dates and location of the meetings will be selected to suit the majority of the committee and to maximise attendance.  As a general committee member you should be able to attend no less than 50% of meetings but attendance can be shared between couples. The President, Treasurer and secretary should attend all meetings.  Attendance in person is preferred but attendance by Skype is ok too.

If you are interested in a position on the committee , you don’t need to find someone to nominate you just volunteer yourself by emailing the secretary at karenkranz@xtra.co.nz.  Elections will be held at the AGM on the 19th May.
